Community Infrastructure

The Nation Building-Economic Stimulus Plan provided $800 million to the Regional and Local Community Infrastructure Program to fund local government to build and renew local infrastructure such as community, centres, town halls, park and playgrounds, pool and sports facilities.

Regional and Local Community Infrastructure Program - $250 million projects

Funding of $250 million was allocated to 566 councils (including the A.C.T) under the Regional and Local Community Infrastructure Program (Council $250 million Allocation) for ready-to-proceed community infrastructure projects.

Regional and Local Community Infrastructure Program - $550 million Strategic Projects

Funding of $550 million was allocated to 137 larger scale strategic projects delivered by local government under the Regional and Local Community Infrastructure Program ($550 million Strategic Projects).

These larger scale projects include the construction of community infrastructure such as town halls, community centres, new sports stadiums, entertainment precincts and cultural centres.
