Insulation

Homeowner Insulation Program

Homeowner Insulation Program

If you are a homeowner-occupier and the criteria listed in the Program Guidelines, the Homeowner Insulation Program will provide assistance of up to $1,600 to have ceiling insulation installed.

How do I arrange installation?

Taking advantage of the assistance is straightforward and simple.

Simply read the program guidelines and assess your eligibility, and select an installer that is on the Installer Provider Register on the website, or by calling the Energy Efficient Homes Hotline on 1800 808 571.

Homeowners must use an installer on the Installer Provider Register.

After installation, the installer will claim the payment direct from the Government so householders will only need to meet any costs above the amount of Government assistance they are entitled to.

Householders are encouraged to approach a number of installers on the register to compare costs, and to explore different insulation and installation options.

Can I access the program?

An applicant must:

  • Be an owner-occupier
  • Be aged 18 or over
  • Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
  • Have no existing ceiling insulation or insulation with an R value of 0.5 or below

Check the installation guidelines for full eligibility requirements.
