2010 - Extensive Refurbishment for Alberton Primary School
Alberton Primary School in South Australia is now
enjoying a new learning street area with funding provided
under the Building the Education Revolution (BER) component
of the Nation Building-Economic Stimulus Plan. The project
has involved the demolition of an old lean-to building and
addition of a new double classroom to create what is called
a “fishbowl” effect with the three double classrooms now
facing into a central area for students to use. The new
layout enables the supervision of students in all areas of

- La Trobe Valley construction company builds 22 social
housing dwellings
Under the Nation Building – Economic Stimulus Plan $1.17
billion funding will be provided for the building of
approximately 4,500 new social housing dwellings across
Victoria. The new dwellings, which are expected to be
completed by June 2012, will provide a much needed boost to
public housing and housing administered by the not –for-
