Defence Housing Australia (DHA) has this week completed the 200th new Defence house to be constructed under the Nation Building – Economic Stimulus Plan.

The 200th house, located in Adelaide, is one of six houses constructed in the northern suburb of Andrews Farm.

The other completed Defence houses are located in Brisbane, Darwin, Hunter, Ipswich, Melbourne, Wodonga and Townsville.

DHA have included an additional 27 houses to their original construction target of 802, using funds allocated under the Economic Stimulus Plan. This brings the total number of Defence houses to be constructed to 829.

Contractors have now been engaged to construct all 829 houses – three months ahead of schedule.
