Round One of the $1.3 billion National School Pride program has been announced with 5,965 Australian schools set to receive $828.16 million in funding for minor infrastructure and refurbishment projects.

Round One funds 8,663 projects in eligible schools across Australia. A variety of projects in this first round have been funded including the refurbishment of playing fields, construction of outdoor shaded areas, repairs to roofs and gutters, installation of water tanks and insulation and upgrading of canteens and kitchens.

Construction and maintenance work will commence as soon as possible, with many of the National School Pride projects planned to begin this month.
