Friday, 4 April 2010

The first completed project under the Building Education Revolution (BER) Science and Language for the 21st Century (SLC) program has been officially opened at Fraser Coast Anglican College in Hervey Bay.

The school recently opened their new Language Centre and celebrated the opening of their new state of the art library which will allow students to access a wealth of technology including thousands of reading titles.

The College received Nation Building-Economic Stimulus Plan funding of $200,000 under the National School Pride (NSP) element of the BER, $3 million under the Primary Schools for the 21st Century (P21) element and $1,714,000 million under the Science and Language Centres for 21st Century Secondary Schools (SLC) element of the Australian Government program.

College Principal Tony Wood and Chair of Council David Buckley both thanked the work of many people who had contributed to the development of all three projects and the funding provided under the Nation Building-Economic Stimulus Plan.
