Construction of the new hall underway
The Pennington Primary School community is looking forward to the
completion of their new hall under the Primary Schools for the 21st
Century (P21) element of the Building the Education Revolution.
Pennington Primary School received $2.5 million in funding under P21
to build a new hall, and refurbish existing learning areas.
“The new hall will be a multipurpose facility that will serve not
only the school but also the wider community. It will have a canteen
food operating area, performing arts and sports area,” explained
School Principal, Ms Catherine Cox-Walliss.
“The hall will also be used for Vietnamese School on the weekends,”
said Ms Cox-Walliss.
Students in Years 5 and 6 have shown keen interest in the
construction of their new hall, creating the Pennington Primary
School Development blog, allowing students and families to see how
the hall is progressing.
Pennington Primary School also received $150,000 in funding under
the National School Pride Program, for new interactive whiteboards,
a new outdoor shade structure, improved school signage to assist
with enrolments, and increased school car parking.
