Safety upgrade in Nambucca now complete

Work is now complete on a safety upgrade to a high risk black
spot in Nambucca.
A new pedestrian island has been constructed in Bowra Street
in Nambucca Heads at a cost of $34,000.
This project was recommended by a panel of independent road
safety experts.
The Black Spot Program has a proven track record of saving lives
with an evaluation showing that it prevented at least 32 fatalities
and more than 1,500 serious injuries in its first three years.
The Nation Building – Economic Stimulus Plan has provided State
and Territory road authorities with an extra $150 million to fix 607
dangerous black spots around Australia.
