Refurbishment of hall entry doors
Replacement of flooring to hall and canteen entry
Provision of a new shade structure to cover playground equipment
Ainslie School is one of Canberra’s oldest, and is undergoing
significant change with funding provided under the Australian
Government’s Nation Building-Economic Stimulus Plan.
The school, which received $150,000 in National School Pride
funding, saw the installation of two new shade structures over
playground equipment and minor refurbishments to the school’s
existing hall earlier this year.
The school also received $2.5 million under the Primary Schools for
the 21st Century program for the construction of two new general
learning areas, a multi-purpose space and an outdoor learning area.
The P21 building projects are well on track.
Ainslie School is home to a mainstream primary school, an
Introductory English Centre for migrant and refugee children and a
Learning Support Unit for students with autism. The school also
provides mainstream integration for a number of children with
learning disabilities.
