Refurbishment underway at Noarlunga TAFE Campus, SA

Completed Area for Specialist Beauty Programs

Noarlunga TAFE Campus is undergoing extensive refurbishment under the $500 million Teaching and Learning Capital Fund for Vocational Education and Training (TLCF-VET), a key component of the Nation Building Economic Stimulus Plan.

The $8.7 million refurbishment project commenced in October 2009 and involves the refitting of several spaces within the current building footprint to increase the number of students able to use the spaces and enable lecturers to optimise the scheduled use of the available spaces.

The refurbishment work will see open spaces, previously used as thoroughfares, converted into Information and Communication Technology enabled learning commons, and former administrative and classroom spaces reconfigured and refurbished to create skills laboratories to meet the increased training programs in aged care, child care and hair and beauty.

Additional areas will be renovated to accommodate increasing requirements for academic preparation areas for lecturing and support staff. The project is due for completion in June 2010.
