New library opened at Graceville State School, QLD

The Prime Minister, the Hon Kevin Rudd was on hand yesterday to open newly built and refurbished facilities at Graceville State School, Queensland.

The primary school, located eight kilometres south-west of the Brisbane CBD, received $3 million under the Primary Schools for the 21st Century element of the Building the Education Revolution component of the Nation Building-Economic Stimulus Plan for the construction of a new library.

Under the National School Pride Program the school received an additional $159,239 in Australian Government funding for classroom refurbishment and $40,762 in funding for the refurbishment of a Covered Outdoor Learning Area (COLA).

The Prime Minister was joined by School Principal Roger Sheehan, local member Mr Graham Perrett MP, parents, friends and school students in officially opening the Library.
