Friday, 22 January 2010
Ebor Public School was celebrating last month. Not only does the
small school of 8 students have a new covered outdoor learning area
(COLA), they were also the first school in NSW to complete their
Primary Schools for the 21st Century (P21) project.
Located n the New England Tablelands, Ebor Public School received
$250,000 under P21, a key element of the $16.2 billion Building the
Education Revolution (BER).
The school also received $50,000 in funding under the National
School Pride program for school refurbishments.
With their BER funding the school was able to construct a new
COLA, cover walkways, refurbish the administration area and
classroom and install double glazing.
On the 14 December 2009, Ebor Public School celebrated the
completion of its P21 project.
“The new facilities are just fantastic and will definitely be
well utilised here at Ebor Public,” school Principal Katrina
Sangster said.
“Our new COLA comes with roll down plastic screens which means we
will be able to use it year-round.
The covered walkway will allow us to get to the bathrooms without
getting drenched when the rain comes. Inside in our library and
administration area, the refurbishments have delivered us a lovely
fresh and bright environment to work and teach in and the new double
glazed windows will keep us much warmer when the temperature drops
down to zero and below in winter,” she said.
