Safety increased at South Australian level
crossing
Tuesday, 23 February 2010
Safety has been improved at another level crossing in South
Australia with the completion of a project on Hobbs Street, Tanunda,
one of six crossing upgrades in the Barossa Valley.
Flashing lights have been installed at the level crossing, which
is an upgrade from the signage previously in place.
Overall, safety at 34 level crossings in South Australia will be
improved as part of the Boom Gates for Rail Crossings program.
Nationally, the $150 million program will fund the installation
of boom gates and other safety measures at 292 level crossings by
the end of June 2010.
