Construction of 23 social housing units on an existing car park
in Gladesville, New South Wales, is expected to start at the end of
June.
The project is part of the Social Housing Initiative under the
Nation Building – Economic Stimulus Plan.
The new complex will consist of 13 one bedroom units and 10 two
bedroom units, and will be designed to suit the needs of senior
community housing residents as well as other community housing
tenants.
The site will have basement car parking with lift access, and
will join Blandville Court – a 141 unit-complex housing
predominately elderly residents which recently underwent an
extensive upgrade.
These units will have excellent access to services in the
Gladesville area and will provide senior housing tenants with a much
needed sense of community.
The 23 new units will be part of 851 approved dwellings to be
constructed in News South Wales under the first stage of
construction of the Social Housing Initiative.
