Thursday, 25 March 2010
Ouse District High School, located in the Central Highlands of
Tasmania, is one of the latest schools to gain new facilities, built
under the Australian Government’s Building the Education Revolution
(BER).
BER which is a key component of the Australian Government’s Nation
Building – Economic Stimulus Plan, provided $250,000 via the Primary
Schools for the 21st Century program to Ouse for the construction of
a multipurpose hall.
The new hall was officially opened on 12 March by Hon Dick Adams MP,
Federal Member for Lyons.
Mr Adams congratulated Ouse District High School on their new modern
facilities with contemporary design and spoke of the benefit to both
the school and local community.
“It is tremendous to be here today to celebrate the opening of this
new multipurpose hall and to witness first hand, the impact this has
had on this school and the broader community. I am also delighted
that this particular project has employed approximately 12 trades
people from the building and construction industry,” Mr Adams said.
Ouse District High School caters for students from Kindergarten to
Year 10.
