More level crossing upgrades completed in Victoria

A further nine level crossing upgrades funded in Victoria under
the Australian Government's Nation Building - Economic Stimulus
Plan have now been completed.
In just five months, boom gates, flashing lights and other safety
measures have been installed at 29 high-risk level crossings across
Victoria, with work on a further seven projects currently underway.
The recently completed projects included the installation of boom
gates at
- Calder Highway, Marong;
- Murray Valley Highway, Castle Donnington;
- Inverleigh Winchelsea Roads, Winchelsea;
- Dimboola Rainbow Roads, Dimboola;
- Calder Alternative Highway, Marong;
- Bundalaguah Road (Montgomery Road), Montgomery; and
- Hamilton Highway, Duverney.
Flashing lights were installed at Friends Road, Rosedale and
Seymour Street, Terang.
The $150 million Boom Gates for Rail Crossings Program will see
boom gates and other safety measures installed at 292 high risk
level crossings around the country.
