New Playground for Subiaco community, WA
Wednesday, 31 March 2010
The Subiaco community has celebrated the opening of the Mueller
Park universal play space - encouraging physical activity and social
interaction for all members of the community.
The City of Subiaco was provided with $149,000 for the project
from the Regional and Local Community Infrastructure
Program (RLCIP), a key component of the Nation Building-Economic
Stimulus Plan.
The project involved the replacement of existing play equipment
with a playground for all children including those with a
disability. The renovations include facilities for parents and
carers, sensory trails and a themed landscape.
In partnership with every council in Australia, the Regional and
Local Community Infrastructure Program will deliver more than 3,300
small and larger scale building projects, including new and
refurbished public libraries, sporting facilities, parks and
playgrounds, and child care centres.
