Deputy Prime Minister announces successful Primary Schools for the 21st Century Round Two Schools
Eastwood Public School, Sydney

10 June 2009

The Hon Julia Gillard MP:

I’m very pleased to announce the results of the second round of our Primary Schools for the 21st Century Program for New South Wales.

This is a special focus on primary schools where all that important early leaning happens – it’s to enable primary schools to construct new facilities, multi-purpose halls, 21st Century libraries, and new classrooms.

And today I’m very pleased to be able to announce that primary schools across New South Wales are going to benefit from a new investment of $2.3 billion. Now that’s a huge amount of money, and it will be making a difference in 1,354 schools across New South Wales – bringing to those schools the new facilities they need to be ready for the 21st Century.
