Road and Rail
The Nation Building - Economic Stimulus Plan provided an investment of more than $2.2billion to improve road and rail infrastructure and safety.
17 Rail Projects
Funding of $1.2 billion was allocated for the Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) towards 17 projects to improve travel times and reduce maintenance costs across its rail network.

The Government has provided an Equity Injection of $1.2 billion to the Australian Rail Track Corporation to assist in facilitating this program.

14 Roads Projects
Funding of $711 million was brought forward to accelerate 14 major road projects aimed at improving road links for all commuters and increasing productivity within the freight sector.
Funding for this program enabled components of works to be brought forward for immediate commencement. Many of the projects are significant long-term infrastructure investments and will be completed over the coming years.

Black Spots
Funding of $150 million was allocated to the national Black Spot Program to further improve road safety where there have been serious crashes or where serious crashes are likely to occur, in total, around 600 high-risk areas will be addressed.

Boom Gates for Rail Crossings
