Road and Rail
Australians will benefit from faster, safer and more efficient
road and rail transport, thanks to a total investment of more than
$2.3 billion by the Australian Government under its Economic
Stimulus Plan.
Under the Nation Building - Economic Stimulus Plan, new and
existing roads, railways and boom gates will be constructed or
upgraded while accident Black Spots and regional roads will be
improved.
Infrastructure and transport projects like these help support
jobs, improve facilities and provide important long-term economic
and social benefits for communities throughout Australia.
The Australian Government will continue to work closely with
state and territory governments to fast-track approvals for project
funding under the plan, meaning local communities may benefit
sooner.
